Frequently Asked Questions

Can my parent receive help to remain at home?

Most older adults CAN remain at home! Many people need help with some of their normal daily tasks. A Caregiver can assist with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, laundry, medication reminders, and light housekeeping, making staying at home with one-on-one care a great alternative to facility placement. Often the cost is comparable, and in some cases, less than facility care!

In-Home Quality Care will help those that want to safely “age in place”…remaining at home can be a reality!

What types of services can a Caregiver provide?

Older adults experience difficulties with their “ADL’s”, activities of daily living. They need assistance with: bathing; dressing; bathroom needs; incontinence management; light housekeeping; laundry; companionship; shopping; escorts to appointments and the like. In-Home Quality Care Caregivers can help you with all of these things.

Are your services covered by Medicare or my Medicare supplement?

No. Unfortunately, the caregiver services are not covered by Medicare or a Medicare supplement.

How are your Caregivers selected?

We are very careful in our screening process. We require our Caregivers to have experience in taking care of the elderly. They must do a face-to-face interview, submit references which are confirmed, have and maintain current TB testing, and a doctor’s release saying that they are healthy to do caregiver work and pass a state-wide, Act 34 Criminal Check.

It is important to note that our caregivers are insured and bonded employees, not contractors.

What prices do you charge for a Caregiver?

The charges related to caregivers from In-Home Quality Care are lower than most other home care agencies, with the workers receiving a higher portion of the fee. Our low prices cover ALL TIMES*, (evenings and weekends) and ALL TASKS!

In-Home Quality Care has specific prices for hourly care, live-in care, and brief visits.

Please contact our office so we can discuss your specific needs and develop a cost-effective plan to meet your goals

*On major legal holidays, time and a half are charged

I have long-term care insurance. Can I use it for your home care?

In-Home Quality Care is an approved provider for several long-term care (LTC) insurance companies. Most long-term care insurance policies require that services are provided by a licensed provider. In-Home Quality Care is a state licensed home care agency. Our staff will work with you to help get your benefits approved. Once the benefits are approved, we will continue to submit claims information so you don’t have to worry about the paperwork!

Call us to discuss your long-term care insurance policy. If there are unanswered questions, we can also arrange a conference call with you and your insurance company to further explore your specific policy questions.

Do you have Live-in help?

Yes! In-Home Quality Care is one of the few providers which offers live-in care. If the client is sleeping well at night, (getting up once or twice briefly), we can provide a Caregiver in the home who stays and sleeps there. One Caregiver typically works 3 or 4 days and nights in a row and a second Caregiver relieves the first to finish the week.

We can provide live-in care for a few days or up to seven days a week. Most home care companies will arrange for two or three shifts to the staff the entire day and charge you over $500 day!! In-Home Quality Care’s live-in care costs far less with only one shift change a week. Give us a call to discuss this option!

I just need someone to come by once a week, can you do that?

Yes! In-Home Quality Care can provide help for as little as once a week, or as much as 24/7. We will work with you to develop a plan of care that works for you or your loved one.

Give us a call to discuss your situation….you are under no obligation. We don’t believe in high-pressure sales tactics. We want you to find the best solution for your specific needs.

My mother is in the hospital and I’m trying to get her back home—what do I do?

The staff at In-Home Quality Care are professionals who frequently work with hospitals to ease the stress of discharging a loved one back to home. We will work with you to explain what is needed, address issues about discharge, suggest services and equipment that can help, and speak with the staff at the hospital if necessary.

We will help you to ensure that your loved one has a safe and smooth transition home. We can speak with you about this goal and help you achieve it! Give us a call.

Do I need to use your services for any length of time?

No. You can use In-Home Quality Care services for as little or as long as needed or desired. Our goal is to provide excellent care to you or your loved one. We will work closely with you to achieve that goal. With that in mind, you can just give us a call and let us know that the service(s) is no longer needed.

I am moving to a facility, but I still need assistance—can you help?

Yes! We often provide that extra touch with one-on-one care to those who are in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals or rehabilitation facilities. This added care can be used to give comfort and communicate with family members. We can be there for four hours to 24 hours per day.

Additionally, our Senior Care Consultants can oversee the transition from home to facility or facility to home. We can continue to be a resident advocate, attending care conferences, coordinating medical appointments/medical care, advocating for the hospitalized client and more. This can be a tremendous help for the out-of-town family.

I have long-term care insurance. Can I use it with your home care?

The Care Registry has been approved countless times to provide care for those who carry long-term care (LTC) insurance. We will work with you to get the benefit approved, and even do the paperwork for reimbursement!

The best next step is to call us and we will do a conference call with you and your insurance company to further explore this option.
